Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence

Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence (WFEE) was founded in 1992 to support innovation and excellence in the Winchester Public Schools by providing private money to fund initiatives that are beyond the reach of available public funds. Funds are raised through various town-wide events throughout the year including the WFEE Trivia Bee, Town Day Road Race, and Teacher Tributes to name a few.

WFEE provides funds across all five elementary schools, the middle school and the high school. Most notably our recent PoweredUp Campaign raised $850,000 for technology in the schools. From infrastructure, to professional development to learn new technology,  to iPads and Chromebooks, WFEE has infused the schools with much needed and in-demand technology.

V-O has specifically been granted gifts to create the Butterfly Garden, to spearhead the "Maker Space” with added robotics (two grants), Science Park, Afro Drums, Lego Robotics, Project Build V-O, Weather Station, Brainpop Rocks, document cameras. Professional Development includes: Daily Five Workshop, National Science Teacher’s Conference, The Creative Brain, Calkins Home Grown Writing Institute, Concentration Station, Kids on the Block Autism Curriculum and Puppets, Differentiated Instruction: Expanded Reaching Through Active Listening,

Across the district: StarLab, Authorfest, Teachers as Scholars Program, Home Grown Reading Institute, Mindful Schools, Art of Education, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention, to name a few.
