Green Committee
Our goal is to make V-O a "greener" community by promoting programs with respect to environmental preservation and conservation.
The Green Committee works mainly with 4th and 5th graders to identify "green" issues throughout the year. We implement educational and “green” activities based on input and guidance from the Student Green Team. We welcome and would love new ideas and energy to help our V-O community and especially our V-O students be the “green” ambassadors they want to be. If you have any experience in the "green" space please be in touch! Even if you don't have any experience but being "green" is close to your heart we would love your support.
Leadership for Green Committee
Responsibilities include:
Recruiting student Green Team members at the beginning of each year with a focus on 4th and 5th graders
Coordinating meetings with students to identify "green" issues they want to address and promote throughout the year
Implementing educational and “green” activities based on input and guidance from the Student Green Team
Liaison and collaborator with Green Teacher Contact (Brighid Pierce) to keep marker recycling up and running at V-O
